PLEASE REGISTER EACH PERSON SEPARATELY. To register a group for the same event, complete the first registration, then go back to the Events Calendar and click on the same program. At the bottom of the registration form, click on "Recall Previous Registrant" button and just change the name for subsequent registrations. The system remembers the last patron's information so you don't have to re-enter it.

 2021 Virtual Book Madness Tournament: Second Chance Showdown

Sixteen runners-up from our previous Book Madness tournaments will be competing against each other for a second chance at victory! Participants must be in 4th-8th grade to submit a bracket and to be eligible for prizes.

Try to win the most points by correctly choosing the “winning pick” for each of the match-ups associated with the tournament.

A video explaining the rules and introducing the books will be released on the Library’s YouTube channel “The MPLD” on February 1, 2021. You can watch the video here!

Brackets will be available online starting February 1, 2021. All brackets must be turned in by Friday, February 26 by 5 pm! You can fill out a bracket here!

Students have two options to turn in their brackets:
1) Upon completing the form, they can download it as a PDF and email it to with the subject “Book Madness 2021.” The name of the file should be formatted as follows: FirstnameLastnameSchoolPhone ex: JohnDoeDuker8153850036

2) They can print out the completed form and turn it in to the Questions Desk

Students can vote online. A link to vote will be posted on the Library’s website on the first day of each round of voting.
Voting Dates:

Sweet 16: Monday, February 22 – Friday, February 26

Elite Eight: Wednesday, March 3 – Tuesday, March 9

Final Four: Friday, March 12 – Wednesday, March 17

Championship: Monday, March 22 – Friday, March 26

The winning book will be announced Monday, March 29. Winners will be announced by the end of April and can arrange to pick up their prize.

*While everyone is encouraged to turn in a bracket, only McHenry area students are eligible to win prizes.
